You can create Inventory Groups in two ways: Manually or Automatically by SKU field

Create Inventory Groups Manually gives you the maximum flexibility. You can freely choose which products (or variants) that goes into an Inventory Group. Creating manual group one by one does consume some setup effort. We find that this approach is most suitable when the store has a small to medium sized catalog (less than 1,000 products).

Create Inventory Groups Automatically by SKU field suits extremely well when your store has a larger catalog of products. Prior to use this approach, you will need to make sure that all products (or variants) that are meant to have the same inventory also needs to share the same value in SKU field. Once this preparation is done, you can start using this feature.

The app automatically creates one Inventory Group for each SKU number and include all products (or variants) having that SKU number. This approach is widely adopted by merchants using the same store to sell to both retail and wholesale customers (which is often selling the same product but with different pricing).
